ABOUT — MEANT FOR YOU BY ASHWIT
Some clothes hang in your wardrobe. Others live there.
There is a difference — and it's not about price, or brand, or the number on a label. It's about whether a garment was made with you in mind. Whether someone, somewhere, held the fabric up to the light and thought about the exact moment you'd wear it. Whether the silhouette was drawn for a body that moves, breathes, sits, laughs, and dances at the same party in the same dress.
That difference is what Meant For You was built to create.

ON THE BRAND
We are a slow fashion label from Lucknow, India. We design occasion and resort wear for young Indian women — silhouette-first, colour-forward, and unapologetically joyful. Not trend-chasing. Not mass-produced. Not designed by committee and approved by algorithm.
Each collection arrives as a small, considered drop — ten to fifteen styles at a time, each one named, each one storied, each one built from scratch with the same question in mind: does this feel like it was made for her?
We don't fill racks. We don't do filler. Every piece that leaves us has earned its place.
— "Fashion that feels personal — and this one's Simply Yours."
ON THE WOMEN WE DESIGN FOR
She is between 22 and 35 — or really, any age at which she still gets dressed with intention. She dresses by mood, not by what's trending. She knows the difference between a colour that flatters and a colour that transforms. She has stood in front of a mirror and felt the particular confidence of wearing something that fits exactly right — not just the body, but the moment.
She wants clothes that make people look. And clothes that make her feel, first.
She is who we think about when we pick every fabric, draw every silhouette, write every garment story on this website. She is, in every sense, who this is meant for.

ON THE FOUNDER
Meant For You is the work of one person — Ashwit Bajpai, designer, founder, and the hand behind every decision this brand makes.
Ashwit studied fashion design at NIIFT, Mohali — one of India's premier fashion institutions — where he built the technical foundation that still underpins everything MFY produces. But education was only the beginning.
What followed was nine years inside the Indian fashion industry — not on the outside looking in, but deep within it. He worked across design studios, production floors, and sales and marketing teams. He understood how a garment is conceived, how it is built, how it fails in the market and why, and how it succeeds. He saw the shortcuts that factories take and why they take them. He saw the gap between what a designer imagines and what a customer actually receives. He saw what slow fashion can look like when it's done with real discipline — and what fast fashion costs, in ways that don't show on a price tag.
Nine years is a long time to wait before building something of your own. But nine years is exactly how long it takes to know that when you finally do, you'll do it right.
Meant For You is that decision — made deliberately, launched with experience, and run with the kind of personal investment that only a founder who has felt every part of this industry can bring.
Every sketch Ashwit draws, he has already imagined on a production floor. Every fabric he selects, he has already understood in a sample room. Every garment we sell, he has already seen through the eyes of a customer standing in a fitting room, deciding whether something is worth it.
He believes it is. And he has spent nine years learning exactly how to make sure.

ON WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
When you buy from Meant For You, you are not buying from a brand with a factory in a city it has never visited, producing fabric it has never touched, making decisions it will never feel the consequence of.
You are buying from someone who has been in the room where the seams are sewn. Who has made the call on thread quality at midnight before a production run. Who has stood in front of a customer and watched her try something on and known, in real time, whether it worked.
That experience doesn't live on this website as a paragraph. It lives in the garments.
So when you wear something from MFY — when it falls exactly right, when the colour does something to the light in the room, when you reach for it again and again from the back of your wardrobe — that is nine years of someone else's learning becoming something that belongs to you.
